Indoor Person
Indoor Person is a tragicomedy about Addie and Cleo, a modern-day high-functioning agoraphobe and the one who tries to keep her afloat. Addie can’t leave the house. Cleo can’t leave Addie. "Functioning" is a fine line, so fine that maintaining the balance just might be impossible. On May 1 2017, the play was featured in The Tribe Theatre Co.'s Spring Reading Series. It was directed by Andrew Garrett and starred Erin Schmidt, Alex Walton, Elisha Mudly, Julia Warner, James Jelkin, Kelly Fairbrother, and Russell Sperberg. A workshop was next staged in Seattle through The Scratch. What I Know
Kayla wrote her first full-length play as a Senior Capstone project in Spring 2015. What I Know is Kayla's most experimental work to date. The five-character text takes a fresh look at the collegiate experience. The show had a staged reading at Pitt in April 2015, directed by Brittany Coyne and starring Arianne Kraiman, Reilly Galvin, Matt Vitullo, Zack Williams, and Madrid Vinarski. It was then put on as a full production as a part of the Performance Collaborative's Summer Company 2015 Season, directed by Amy Wooler and Mason Jaynes and starring Leenie Baker, Hsuan Chang, Theo Campbell, Zack Williams, and Jessica Lynn Smith.

In August 2014, the University of Pittsburgh Performance Collaborative
put on an interpretation of Kayla's paint-drenched pantomime, Exteriors. The show was devised and directed by Ellen Connally, starring Amy Wooler, Matt Russak, and Harry Hawkins. This was the first collaborative rendition of Kayla's work.

My Doomsday Off
In the Spring 2014 Semester, Kayla served as head writer for the University of Pittsburgh Stages' Sketch Show: My Doomsday Off. The project was headed by director Ric Walker, founder of Pitt's improv group, Ruckus. Her sketch titled "The Devil's Mark" was featured in the show. The sketch explored the rather deep idea of getting a hickey in the 1950s.
